Our Story in Brief
After graduating with a focus on the Capstone project Literacy Intervention Recommendations for 0-5 Year olds, Dr. Loving took the findings they submitted to the Virginia Literacy Coalition through the Community Foundation for Greater Richmond and began to apply them at a community level in their neighborhood.
Originally established as Peace by Pieces, LLC, Dr. Loving dissolved one organization into another non-profit in order to apply for grant opportunities because the vision has always been to keep the services free, accessible, and frequent (hence, why the domain is now PeacebyPiece.net).
The Result?
- Free literacy intervention services (one hour on select Sundays) for over two years now.
- Two locations for growing numbers now (times and locations available through password protected pages).
- Expansion to handing out books to kids waiting in cars at the food bank every Tuesday night (Henrico setting)!
